Cisco® also offers the test candidate a secondary option for obtaining the CCNA certificate which is by taking two separate exams, 640-821 Intro and 640-811 ICND. The cost of these vouchers is typically around $100.00 each, thus taking the two separate exams for the CCNA is an additional $75.
There is a significant advantage with taking the exams separately, and that is that the test content is separated into two different categories rather than all lumped together into one larger and more difficult exam. For the individual with limited experience with Cisco equipment, as well as limited networking experience this is definitely the way to go.

CCNA 640-811 Objectives.
It should be no surprise, but we offer test question guides for all three of these Cisco® exams. The test questions are based on Cisco® Press documentation.
Where we teach the 60 hour Cisco® CCNA curriculum we have near a 100% pass rate for these certifications, but truth be told we shy away from sending new comers for the 640-801. We strongly suggest that they take the two seperate exams. If we have a student that has a considerable amount of Cisco® experience we leave the door open for 640-801, but don't push it.
If one wonders why we still emphasize the two test method when using Cisco® Press books, the answer is simple. It is a 60 hour class, and that is a lot of information in 60 hours, and in the classroom we push successful passes for certs, and not fails.
