Our Network+ tutorials page has a few free tutorials are not meant to replace either conventional instruction through a classroom or self study through a good A+ book, let alone setting up a home network for practice.
The N10-003 test certification is what got this whole thing started back in 2002 on the web. This site was
originally set up or our students and has grown and changed over these few years and been a lot of fun, and hard work too!
These tutorials only touch on what is required by CompTIA® on their Network+ test, but are an essential part of the exam. You will also find some practice tests at this web site as well for your enjoyment and learning experience!
The following operating systems are tested in a network environment on the CompTIA® Network+ test.
- Microsoft® DOS
- Microsoft® 9.x
- Microsoft® NT4
- Microsoft® W2K
- Microsoft® XP
- Unix/Linux
- Novell® NetWare
- Microsoft Macintosh®
For this test you will also have to know the IEEE standards, network cabling standards which includes gigabit as well with fiber optics.
In our opinion this is a fun class and test although the CompTIA® test is a bit tricky, and does extend farther than one might think for entry level.
We really think this test should be a precursor to the Cisco® CCNA exam. If you know this material really well (more than braindump) then moving up to the Cisco® CCNA is a logical next step in the certification game.
When the Network+ Certification is combined with the A+ certification you get the
benefit of applying toward the Novell® CCNA or as an elective for Microsoft® MCSA.
Enjoy the tutorials and the practice tests and stop back by. If you have been here before you can see we have made major changes, and we are in the process of taking everything we do in the classroom on line.
