Fault Tolerance with RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Disks)
RAID 5: Stripe Set with parity uses a minimum of 1 controller and a minimum of 3 hard disks, with a maximum of 32 disks.

An example of it’s fault tolerant ability would be if you were using 3 drives. Data is written in stripe sets across all three drives, and if a drive fails the data (parity) information from the other 2 good drives will be used to rebuild the data on the newly replaced drive.
